Heythrop Library

For operational reasons we need to close the Library from

Thursday 26th to Monday 30th June 2025.

We should be open as normal on Tuesday 1st July 2025.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Whilst the Library is closed:

• you cannot access the Library, for various reasons.
• books can be returned by handing them over to the colleague at the London Jesuit Centre’s reception.
• books from the reading room, as well as the off-site stores can be requested:
  • Requests for off-site stores can be placed as through our new catalogue at https://search.heythroplibrary.co.uk (to log in you will need to have created a new password for the new system). : use the “Forgot your password?” link under the “Login to your account” box)
  • Requests for reading room books should be placed by emailing us (heythroplibrary@jesuit.org.uk); it will help us if you can include your membership number (starting with 019…), which you can find at the back of your library card.
• we will email you once a book is ready for collection at the LJC reception.
• there will be no librarians on site on Saturday 28th June 2025.

When will books be ready for collection?

The same lead-in times for off-site store books apply (up to 48-hours). For reading room books, we will try to act on them asap, but we are very busy with other, important work. We hope to respond to requests within 3 hours of receiving them, during our normal working hours.

What about access to journals?

We are sorry that for these four days of closure we will not be able to provide access to journals.

We are very grateful for your patience during the closure, and are now back with a better, new catalogue and system.
