The Heythrop Library team has 3 full-time staff members:
Heythrop Librarian: Clemens Gresser
Clemens has been Heythrop Librarian since September 2021. Usually working in the Library office, he enjoys giving tours to new members, or helping them to find books. He looks after journals subscriptions, ordering books, and primarily catalogues post-1801 books. Before Heythrop, he worked for 11 years at libraries at the University of Cambridge, and 3 years at the British Library. He also honed his professional skills at the University of Surrey Library, as well as the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Cataloguer: Amelia Leventhal
Amelia recently joined Heythrop as Cataloguer in October 2024. Previously she studied Library Science at the Pratt Institute in New York City, while working as a Library Assistant in the research divisions at New York Public Library.
Assistant Librarian: Sophia Venable
Sophia joined Heythrop as the Assistant Librarian in April 2025. Based at the circulation desk, she enjoys welcoming new members to the Library, dealing with reader enquiries, and receiving and processing new books and journals for the collection. Since graduating from the University of Southampton where she studied English Literature, Sophia has worked as a Student Ministry Assistant at an Anglican congregation in Southampton, as a Volunteer Library Assistant for St Edmund’s College at the University of Cambridge, and as the Library Assistant at Tyndale House, a Biblical Studies research centre in Cambridge.
