Improved renewal notices

We have recently improved the system-generated renewal notices, so that the email warns you that an automatic renewal is the last of its kind:

There were 2 items that were renewed.

Jesus of Nazareth :

1921024360

was renewed until 30/03/2026
This item has reached the maximum number of automatic renewals and will no longer be renewed.

Prayer :

1921048385

The apocryphal gospels /

1921052049

was renewed until 30/03/2026

This means that you need to return the book to the Library.  If no one puts a reservation/recall on the book, you can show us the book in the Library, we’ll return it on the system, and can re-issue it to you.

If you are ever confused about the messages, you can check your account, by logging into it on our catalogued:

  1. Logged into your account via https://hey.koha.openfifth.net/cgi-bin/koha/opac-user.pl
  2. You can see when a book is due, and how many automatic renewals it has had:
Screenshot shows one book being on loan: with the following columns:
title, author, Due (date), barcode, Classnumber, Renew, and Fines

As you can see the “Renew” column states “No renewal before 16/01/2026 (5 of 5 renewals remaining)”, and “This item is scheduled for auto renewals.

If the status of your book is not clear, please contact us.
